In November 1983, a gang of balaclava-clad armed robbers broke into the Brink's-Mat security depot near Heathrow and fled with pure gold, worth £26 million - equivalent to around £94 million today. Rolls-Royce 'Spirit of Innovation'

Rolls-Royce all-electric ‘Spirit of Innovation’ aircraft is officially the world’s fastest all-electric aircraft. On 16 November 2021, the aircraft reached a top speed of 555.9 km/h (345.4 mph) over 3 kilometres, smashing the existing record by 213.04 km/h (132mph).

At the end of 2021, I worked at Stamp Productions, and together with a director Jonathan Lamb we made two films documenting breaking the record.

'When a City Rises' censored and banned in China and its territories.

Chinese authorities censor and ban "When a City Rises" and other pro - democracy films, art and literature. According to the new law, anything related to the pro-democracy movement can’t be shown or distributed. Artists and filmmakers can face severe punishment.
“When a City Rises” purpose is a historical record of what happened in the past few years with democracy in Hong Kong. The events can’t be erased and history can’t be silenced or banned.

Read The Guardian article by Helen Davidson to learn how Chinese authorities censor history.

You can see “When a City Rises” at the festivals around the world and in Europe. The broadcast versions that I have edited are shown on ARTE and WDR at the moment.

After many years of work, Eastern Illuminations has finally premiered on the 23rd Kino na Granicy / Kino na Hranici / Cinema on the border Film Festival in Cieszyn / Cesky Tesin .

This exceptional documentary directed, filmed and produced by Zuzka Markova was a labour of love and passion for Eastern European Cinema.

Milos Forman, Agnieszka Holland, Márta Mészáros, Andrzej Wajda, Kalory Makk, Jiri Menzel, Daniel Olbrychski, Juraj Jakubisko and many many more gave unique interviews about their way of making films during communist regime; dealing with communist party rule, Russian dictate, political turmoils and censorship.

Made with help of the Visegrad Fund the film is important to learn about history and cinema, but also to remind ourself how important democracy and freedom are.

'My life - I'm like a fish' on BBC

Fourteen-year-old Mohammed is Gaza's best swimmer. He is on a mission to be his nation’s first Olympic swimming champion and now he has the opportunity of a lifetime - to go to Germany and train in an Olympic-sized pool with an elite team. It’s the first time he has been to Europe and just as he gets close to the qualifying time he needs, the Covid pandemic hits the world.

I’m like a fish is a 30 min long documentary that I worked on with Elena Andreicheva, an Oscar and BAFTA winning director and producer.

The film has been broadcasted on BBC on the 25th of July and is now on BBC iPlayer.

Channel 4 News - Turtle doves face extinction

A symbol of British countryside - turtle dove have suffered a drastic decline in the UK, with an estimated population drop of 98% since 1970. There are serious concerns that the species could soon disappear from the country and Europe entirely because of land urbanisation and hunting. Turtle doves are shot in huge numbers on migration but some European countries seem unwilling to stop shooting them.

Go to Channel 4 News page or follow the link here to see the full story. I worked on the film together with director Rachel Seifert and commissioning editor Louise Turner.
